For information on Egyptian Christianity, go to "A History of Christianity in Egypt." It has useful historical information and context on the development of Christianity in Egypt. It also has good information on the lives of saints in Egypt and the development of the Coptic Church. Fr. Sava, better known as the "Cyber Monk" maintains this web site for the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Raska and Prizren.  This is the Serbian diocese which includes Kosovo so there is much information here about churches and monasteries that have been damaged or destroyed.  It also contains a list of Serbian Orthodox monasteries with information and photos.

For general information on the Church of Greece, this site has plenty of current information in both English and Greek.  It is updated daily and has links to other good sources of Orthodox spirituality.

The "St. Pachomius Library of Greek Sources"  also contains links to the "Electronic Bible Society" of Wheaton College in Illinois which is putting the entire well-known thirty-eight volume Victorian patristics collection The Ante-Nicene, Nicene, and Post-Nicene Fathers on-line. The Serbian Orthodox Church’s Diocese of Western America has made available on-line the wonderful collection of the Lives of Saints called “The Prologue From Ochrid.”   Thanks to our Serbian Orthodox brothers and sisters, this is now available in its entirety on-line!  Just click on the readings for any day of the year! Speaking from personal experience, this is a great thing to read just before going to sleep each night. Enjoy!

THE HOLY BIBLE -- Many of the Desert Fathers had only the Scriptures to read – if even that. Today, we have a wealth of reading material available to us, yet we are spiritually so far below them in our prayer and spiritual life. All too often, it seems, we end up reading everything BUT the Bible in our spiritual search! However, we should never neglect our reading of the Holy Bible and today’s computer software makes it easier than ever to read and study the Bible. Here are two sources for FREE downloads of the Bible and some useful study materials (dictionaries, lexicons, etc.):

a) This King James Bible Program, written for either Win95, Win98, or 2000, has over 12,000 topics to select from both the Old and New Testaments. Also included are The Parables of Jesus, Matthew Henry Commentary, Nave's Topics, Easton's Bible Dictionary, Torry's Topics, Hitchcock's Bible Names, book mark feature, scripture search, maps, and build your own word dictionary. It has a very attractive and user-friendly interface, too.  I use this one myself and just love it!

b) There are also non-English language versions of the Bible, as well as many other versions (besides our favorite, the King James Version!). These folks have the Bible available in many different versions and languages (19 in all!), as well as several good study aids. This one is also highly recommended.

Paul Azkoul is an iconographer writing in the Byzantine style of Photius Kontaglou.  His work is quite exceptional and he offers original works for sale on-line.
