Photos of Coptic Monks and Coptic Monasteries

A Monk of the Coptic Church in the Monastery of St. Paul in the Egyptian Desert. The Copts of Egypt are one of the oldest Christian communities in the world.   The Copts of Egypt today have one of the richest spiritual treasuries available to the world -- Coptic monks and monasteries following the ancient spiritual traditions of the Coptic Church.  Thousands of people have visited Inner Light Productions to view Coptic monastery photos from Egypt where many of the monks and monasteries of the Coptic Church are located.  We have photos of Coptic monks at work and at prayer, showing how they live their lives according to the ancient traditions of the Coptic Orthodox Church.   These photos were made in the Coptic monasteries of the Red Sea, Wadi Natrun, and Upper and Middle Egypt where the Coptic monks of today live in monasteries that in some cases are over a thousand years old.

In addition to our Coptic monastery photos, we also have a lot of information on the ancient Desert Fathers and Mothers of the Coptic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Churches -- those men and women of the Egyptian Desert, as well as the Deserts of Palestine and the Holy Land.  The Copts of Egypt have preserved these rich traditions and places of spiritual struggle and now you can visit them through our photo gallery.  These men and women of the desert fought all the same battles we fight today in the spiritual life and there is much we can learn by reading of their struggles, triumphs, and failures.

There are currently two galleries of monastery photos available:

Monastery Photos from the Coptic Church of Egypt (and the Greek Orthodox Monastery of St. Catherine's on Mount Sinai)

Monastery Photos from the Eastern Orthodox Churches of Mount Athos

Inner Light Productions also offers a free weekly newsletter on the teachings of the Desert Fathers.   For monastery photos and information on the Coptic and Eastern Orthodox Churches, Inner Light Productions is perhaps the best source on the Web!
